Patna Shukla is the recent film on Disney+ Hotstar and it is about a scam that takes place in the education system. The film stars Raveena Tandon and Manav Vij among other actors. A character has been gaining a lot of attention ever since its release on the OTT Platform. The character is that of a Politician named Raghubir Singh, played by actor Jatin Goswami.

Raghubir Singh Patna Shukla: Who is He in Real Life?
The character of Raghubir Singh has been inspired by a few politicians who were allegedly involved in these scams. The character is an amalgamation of these people and the storied crimes that they were accused of. In the Vyapam scam, which was discovered in 2013, the politician Laxmikant Sharma was involved in the capacity of the Technical Education Minister of the State. The Vyapam scam involved collusion between candidates who were undeserving and paid money to get higher marks in the exams.
There were answer sheets manipulated, there were impersonations, and answer keys were leaked. The scam became infamous too for the number of lives which were lost in the scam in what was allegedly high-profile murders. There were murders that were made to look like accidents as per reports. In the film, the character threatens Tanvi Shukla. Laxmikant Sharma was sent to remand for four days where he pinned the blame on OP Shukla who was the Officer on Special Duty.
He allegedly had taken Rs 85 Lakh from the students to help them in the exams. State Governor Ram Naresh Yadav was also found guilty and was charged with criminal conspiracy in rigging the examination of the MPPEB forest guard recruitment. The allegations were also put against Shivraj Singh Chouhan by Digvijay Singh about harassing the whistleblowers of this scam.
In 2016, the BJP politician Giriraj Singh was accused of being involved with the Toppers scam accused Baccha Rai who had helped Ruby Rai become a topper. The topper of the arts field Ruby Rai was interviewed and pronounced Political Science as ‘Prodigal Science’. Giriraj Singh came back at Tejaswi Yadav after he made the allegation by posting Bacha Rai’s picture with Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav.
