The filming of Pretty Little Liars: Summer School also took place in the city of Hudson in New York. The first season of the show was also filmed in the same city. Hudson is known for its charming historic district, lined with beautifully preserved 19th-century buildings. This small city on the Hudson River is a hub for art, antiques, and cultural events. It is also famous for its top-notch restaurants, trendy cafés, and scenic riverfront.

Ulster County, New York

A few sequences of the show were shot in Ulster County, particularly at two spots: the city of Kingston and the town of Saugerties. In Saugerties, the cast and crew filmed a few scenes at the Orpheum Theatre, a cinema hall situated at 156 Main Street. It is also known by the name of Upstate Films.

Kingston, on the other hand, is the county seat of Ulster County. With a population of 24,069 as of the 2020 Census, Kingston is considered part of the New York metropolitan area. During the Revolutionary War, it served as New York’s first capital and was burned by the British in 1777. In the 19th century, Kingston flourished as a transportation center due to its natural cement discovery, with historic districts recognized nationally.

Dutchess County, New York

The shoot of Pretty Little Liars: Summer School also happened in Dutchess County, particularly in the town of Hyde Park. The town borders the Hudson River north of Poughkeepsie and encompasses several hamlets. Renowned as the hometown of Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd U.S. president, it hosts his historic residence, now the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site. Other notable landmarks in the town include the Culinary Institute of America and the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum. Several homes in Hyde Park, including those of Eleanor Roosevelt and Isaac Roosevelt, are listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
