The Greatest Hits is a one of a kind romantic fantasy film that follows Harriet, a woman who can travel back in time if she listens to certain songs. She uses this ability to try to save the life of her dead boyfriend, while in the present day, a new love interest enters her life. As Harriet makes some tough choices, audiences get to see an array of different filming locations in The Greatest Hits. This makes one wonder where was the Hulu original movie filmed. 

The Greatest Hits Filming Locations

Los Angeles, California served as the sole filming location for The Greatest Hits. The filming was carried out in the city between September and October 2022. People native to the city can notice a number of LA spots and neighborhood in the film. Some sequences were filmed in Downtown, the central business district of LA. It hosts over 500,000 jobs and approximately 85,000 residents, with a daytime population surpassing 200,000.

A few scenes were filmed at the Sixth Street Viaduct, aka the Sixth Street Bridge, that connects Downtown to the Boyle Heights neighborhood, which by the way, also hosted the filming. Boyle Heights has been a hub for immigrant communities, particularly Latinos and Jews, contributing to its unique cultural identity. The neighborhood is known for its delicious and authentic Mexican cuisine, bustling street markets, and historic landmarks like the Breed Street Shul.

Other locations from LA featured in the film include Echo Park, Chinatown, and Highland Park. Echo Park is known for its iconic lake, which offers paddle boating and stunning views of the city skyline. It is also a cultural hotspot, with numerous art galleries, music venues, and street art adorning its streets. On the other hand, Chinatown is famous for its traditional Chinese architecture, ornate gateways, and bustling markets filled with exotic goods and delicacies. The neighborhood offers a glimpse into Chinese culture through its temples, festivals, and cultural events.

At the same time, Highland Park is located in the Northeast region of LA and is known for being home to a mix of artists, musicians, and families. The area boasts trendy boutiques, coffee shops, and vintage stores along its bustling streets. Some important scenes of The Greatest Hits were filmed in Venice, Los Angeles. Founded in 1905 by developer Abbot Kinney, the seaside resort town was envisioned as the “Venice of America,” complete with canals reminiscent of its Italian namesake.

The shoot also took place in Silver Lake, a residential and commercial neighborhood; San Pedro, which partially contains the Port of Los Angeles; and Agua Dulce, a census-designated place in LA County. Finally, a few scenes were taped in the city of Santa Clarita in Los Angeles County. Originally inhabited by the Tataviam Native American tribe, it later became a vital stop on El Camino Real, the historic Spanish mission trail. Today, Santa Clarita is known for its picturesque landscapes, including rugged mountains, sprawling valleys, and scenic hiking trails. Additionally, Santa Clarita is home to Six Flags Magic Mountain, a renowned amusement park.
