The Artist (2011)

The Artist was the winner of 5 Academy Awards and Bejo played the iconic role of Peppy Miller in this silent black-and-white film directed by the brilliant director Michel Hazanavicius. The Past (2013)

A film directed by Asghar Farhadi, is always an instant classic. The Past explores a complex family dynamic and goes deep into interpersonal relationships. Consider this as a personal recommendation but this is perhaps the best performance of Bejo as she plays a mature and deep character in this one.

The Childhood of a Leader (2015)

This might be an unpopular choice but the Brady Corbet film often gets lost in the clutter of the many films of the World War 2 era but this is an amazingly raw and chilling portrayal of a future dictator’s early years.
