Well, the filming of the show took place extensively from June 20th, 2022 to March 24th, 2023 across various regions. Now without any further ado, let’s answer the question of where was Fallout filmed.

New York, USA

The state of New York served as the primary filming location for Fallout. A number of sequences of the show were shot in New York City. The cast and crew were spotted filming at various spots in the city. Staten Island, the southernmost borough of the city, hosted the production for several days as the scenes involving the Super Duper Mart were filmed there, particularly at the parking lot situated at 2413 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island.

Apart from NYC, the production crew also utilized the Nyack village situated in New York as a filming location from the series. The village is situated in Orangetown in Rockland County. A portion of Fallout was filmed in the US state of Utah. Some sequences were lensed at the historic Wendover Airfield. Initially established in 1940 as a training base for B-17 and B-24 bomber crews during World War II, it played a pivotal role in shaping aviation history. Notably, it served as the training ground for the 509th Composite Group, which conducted the atomic bombings in Japan. The airfield now features preserved hangars and artifacts and also allows visitors to explore the site with guided tours.

Kolmanskop, Namibia

The team of Fallout also flew to the southern African country of Namibia to shoot some key sequences of the show. There, the filming took place in Kolmanskop, a ghost town in the Namib region. The town is mostly covered in sand and features several abandoned houses, which makes it an ideal filming site for the post-apocalyptic series. The town was established in the early 1900s when a diamond was found there, attracting many elites, but as the diamond field started to deplete during WWI, people started to leave. Finally, the place was completely abandoned in 1956 and now serves as a tourist spot.

New Jersey, USA

Another US state that served as a filming location for Fallout is Jersey. The filming took place in Jersey City, the second most populous city in the state. The city boasts a rich cultural heritage and architectural diversity, providing filmmakers with a wide array of filming locations. From historic brownstone neighborhoods to modern skyscrapers and waterfront vistas, the city offers a versatile backdrop for a variety of film genres.

Nevada, USA

Las Vegas in Nevada is another prominent location where the cast and crew of the show were seen filming. The desert landscape near the city proved to be the perfect place to shoot a dystopian series like Fallout. Also, Vegas’ reputation as an entertainment capital ensures access to top-notch production facilities, experienced crews, and state-of-the-art equipment, which further aided in filming.
