Amar Singh Chamkila is a biopic on the name of a controversial singer of the same name and it has generated quite the buzz ever since the film came out. The film is the story of this man who came from nothing and went on to achieve everything before he was unceremoniously assassinated. The film stars Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra in prominent roles and has been directed by ace director Imtiaz Ali. He was responsible for taking Chamkila’s bookings and making arrangements for the programs while he learned from his coach and honed his craft.

In an interview, Kikkar narrates an incident where Kikkar refused a client who wanted to organize a program with Chamkila because he thought the amount of Rs 800 was less. However, Chamkila made sure that he accepted the program and performed for the client. Amar Singh Chamkila was known for being a man who would bring the stage alive and feel most comfortable with his audience. In common folklore, he is said to have performed 366 shows in 365 days.
